How to take shower screen measurements?
Once you are clear about the type of screen, the most important thing comes: how to take shower screen measurements? It is key so that they adjust to the detail and are perfect. Therefore, below we are going to tell you how to do it.
Measure front shower screen
The front shower screens are straight and go between three walls, the two side walls and the back wall, and for their installation you must take two measurements:
- Topheight at which you want the screen to reach.
- Bottomflush with the shower tray.
It is important to take these measures. It is common for walls to have slight inclinations that must be compensated. When making your choice, the screens indicate the minimum and maximum measurement that they can cover with a difference of 5cm.
Measure angular shower screen
- The measurements must indicate the existing measurement from the right side to the left. To do this, take the measurements looking at the plate from the outer corner or vertex.
- Measure the screen from outside the plate.
- Take measurements including millimeters.
- Write down the left side measurement first and then the right side, which is how the measurements are shown in the ranges.
Measure curved shower screen
Curved shower screens are the most complicated to measure, since in addition to knowing the measurements of the sides, you must also know the radius of the curved vertex of the tray.
Generally, the most common measurements are 80x80cm and 90x90cm, although this may vary.
Tips for taking side measurements of curved shower screens:
- Check that the walls form a right angle.
- Take measurements of the interior sides of the shower tray from the outside edge.
- Measure the length of the diagonal, from the inside corner to the center of the curve.
- Choose a valid screen time for your plate. Please note that the ranges of the curved screens are 1 cm less than the measurements.
After taking the lateral measurements, you must now check the radius of the shower tray:
- 500 mmrock radius.
- 550 mmItalian radius.
Measure bathtub screen
To measure a bathtub screen you must follow the same guidelines that we just discussed for showers, with the difference that the bathtub tray will not be flush with the floor.
